Because we run Casa Majahua as a vacation rental, we run it as a business in Mexico as one should. We pay income taxes, pay our workers social security, etc. Denni is the designated owner who holds an FM3, which is a visa, in our case a business visa. As such, she has to get it renewed every year, no later than 9/23 and no sooner than 8/23. Since Mexican Independence day is 9/16 and not much happens around that time, we try to get it done sooner than later!
This year, the FM3 was processed in 5 days! Usually it takes 10 days and the original FM3 took us 5 weeks to get. Yikes.
