Majahua flower & my first tattoo

Since I turned 40, I've been thinking about a tattoo. But I only wanted one that is original, sentimental and relates to nature.

One of the most amazing aspects of Casa Majahua is the Majahua bush that we grew from a sampling Gustavo & Karina gave us when the house just finished. It was Karina who gave us the idea to name the house after both the flower and the neighboring village. And lucky us, they had the bush on their property.

Now our little sampling is a huge bush - really a tree at this point! The amazing thing about the majahua is the flower. It blooms yellow in the morning, turns to red by the end of the day, then dies off. So it only lives for that day. Here are some pictures of the flower. Anyway, that is what I got for my tattoo! So now a piece of Casa Majahua is with me every day.

And now... my new tattoo! (on my right leg on the side of my thigh...)
